28" SxS barrels with smooth concave rib choked improved cylinder &

modified. 14 7/8" pull from front trigger to original buttplate. 1 1/2" - 2"

drop. Figured European walnut stocks with Anson-release splinter forend,

straight English grip, classic point-pattern checkering with mullered borders,

teardrops, and silver oval with initials DL. Scroll engraved, casehardened

action with beaded fences and automatic top tang safety with SAFE inlaid in

gold. Weight 5lbs, 5 3/4oz. Built 1928. Tight, excellent bores, and ejectors in

time. 98% barrel blue. 25% casehardening colors. London nitro proved for 2

1/2" cartridges. John Robertson was proprietor of Boss, and patentee of

both their milestone over&under gun and their single trigger mechanism.

Boss used his name for marketing boxlock guns so as not to abrogate their

motto, "Builders of Best Guns Only".     $3995.
